Austra's third record, Future Politics, is perhaps the band's most ambitious to date. It's "a commitment to replace the approaching dystopia," lead singer Katie Stelmanis says in a press release.
Despite the heavy subject matter, the album doesn't mire itself in doom and gloom. Quite the opposite, in fact. There's plenty on Future Politics that inspires cutting it up on the dance floor including, "Freepower," "Angel in Your Eye," "Gaia" and the title track. Stelmanis wrote and engineered the album and the immaculate production was her doing, too. Alice Wilder and Heba Kadry mixed and mastered it, respectively.
