"Lady of gold, you would fit beautiful in my wilderness." — Julia Holter, "Have You in My Wilderness'"

The Strombo Show runs the gamut this Sunday night, keeping the spirit of radio alive by delivering the best records in the best order. It's a show for music lovers by music lovers, ranging over three hours of commercial-free music to honour both old and new.

George Stroumboulopoulos was be joined by the singer-songwriter responsible for one of the greatest albums of this past year, Julia Holter.

Holter's fourth album, Have You In My Wilderness, earned her incredible critical praise for its ethereal pop song structure and gentle ballads. While it has been described as a departure, the album reflects the Los Angeles melodies of Holter's childhood meshed with classical composition, both elements that have been ever-present in her catalogue. In the House of Strombo, she unravels her thought process, adolescent insecurities, performs intimate renditions of her songs and covers Dionne Warwick's "Don't Make Me Over."

We also celebrated the fifth Beatle, George Martin, with some of his finest musical exploits: the Beatles to Peter Sellers and archival interviews with him from throughout his life.

Also, George debuted new tunage from Portland's Dandy Warhols, Toronto's SATE, Los Angeles's Trevor James Tillery, New Brunswick's Laura Sauvage, Sam Cash And the Romantic Dogs and Del Barber's hockey-obsessed project.

You know what to do: Lock it. Crank it. Join the collective.
