Listen to a new song from Broken Social Scene, 'Gonna Get Better'

It's probably safe to say that Broken Social Scene will never stop. Not that we'd ever want the groundbreaking Toronto collective to permanently call it quits, but after their 2011 "final" concert in Rio de Janeiro, followed by a glorious reunion concert at the inaugural Field Trip Music festival in 2013, it comes as a bit of a surprise to see this tweet.

The Toronto indie institution we named the 14th greatest Canadian band of all time is working on new music. There are no further details on exactly what the follow-up to 2010's Forgiveness Rock Record will be, or more importantly, who of the more than 25 musicians that have called themselves a member will be included – the 2015 touring lineup consisted of Kevin Drew, Brendan Canning, Justin Peroff, Andrew Whiteman, Charles Spearin, Evan Cranley and Amy Millan, while Feist joined them to perform on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon in 2013.

They did, however, perform a new song at the Pitchfork Music Fest called "Gonna Get Better," featuring new singer Ariel Engle on lead vocals. You can watch a video of that below.
