Listen to the September 27, 2015, episode of the Strombo Show.
"Holding off your freedom of speech. Rage against the dying of the light."
We're back!
The Strombo Show ran the gamut this Sunday night, keeping the spirit of radio alive by delivering the best records in the best order. It's a show for music lovers by music lovers, ranging over three hours of commercial-free music to honour both old and new.
George Stroumboulopoulos is joined by Metric, one of our nation's finest musical exports, for an intimate conversation and acoustic performance.
After five studio albums in the band's arsenal, kinships with musical icons like Lou Reed and having privately entertained the Queen of England, Metric decided to go on hiatus. Divided between Toronto and Nicaragua, the band's silent intention resulted in two full-length albums.
In the House of Strombo, Emily Haines and Jimmy Shaw perform songs from that first companion piece, Pagans In Vegas, discuss the followup album and delve into their musical heritage.
Also, we're joined by a few friends of the program, including Alison Mosshart of the Kills and Dead Weather.
Lock it. Crank it. Join the collective!
