"It takes a village to raise a fool."

The Strombo Show is back, and we ran this Sunday night, keeping the spirit of radio alive by delivering the best records in the best order. It's a show for music lovers by music lovers. We ranged over three hours of commercial-free music to honour both old and new.

George Stroumboulopoulos was joined by Dan Mangan + Blacksmith for a feature interview and solo performance.

Mangan is a multi-Juno Award-winning, Polaris Prize-nominated artist who has officially joined forces with his longtime band members from Vancouver — Kenton Loewen, Gordon Grdina and John Walsh — with the moniker "Blacksmith" ahead of releasing their fourth LP, Club Meds.

Some of these names you've heard before, when they catastrophically rattled George's mind in our broom closet studio last season with their side project, the Crackling.

On Sunday, we featured exclusive broadcast premieres from their latest collection of thought-provoking material, acoustically jammed a few tracks, including a few covers such as Van Halen's "Hot For Teacher" and reminisced about that pivotal coming-of-age moment, spurred by Sinead O'Connor.

As always, we tipped our hats to those groundbreakers and game-changers with a Nod to the Gods, spun the best new tracks, paid tribute to Tom Waits on Ten with Tom and we'll send you into the horizontal with the Big Lie Down.

Lock it. Crank it. Join the collective!
