The Weeknd just came off of a huge year with the success of 2015’s Beauty Behind the Madness, but it looks like the Toronto R&B star is already working on new music and is maybe collaborating with some unexpected musicians. In an Instagram post from last week, seen below, the artist revealed a picture from what looks like a studio with two Daft Punk figurines sitting atop a speaker.
A Billboard interview with Republic Records executive vice president Wendy Goldstein last month hinted at this collaboration. In the interview, Goldstein talks about bringing artists together to work on music and later added, “Well actually, we have a session coming up in two days with the Weeknd and Daft Punk, and I’ve always been a massive Daft Punk fan. This is the first time I’ve been involved with an artist who’s going to go and work with them.”
