July Talk's hotly anticipated second album, Touch, will be released this Friday, Sept. 9. Almost four years have passed since the Toronto-based band exploded onto the Canadian music scene with its debut, self-titled release. But those four years have been very busy ones, as the band earned ardent fans across the country and then in the U.S. and Europe, based on the frenzied ecstasy of the group's live performances.
When playing live, lead singers Peter Dreimanis and Leah Fay both compliment and attack each other as they prowl the stage. Ian Docherty lays down some mind-bending guitar, while Josh Warburton and Danny Miles hold down a pounding rhythm. If you haven't yet seen their live show, let these videos be your first taste. Watch a live version of "Push + Pull," the band's first single from the new album. "Beck + Call" and "Picturing Love" are also outstanding, while the title track "Touch" is a smouldering cauldron of emotion that swells into a thunderous catharsis, while lyrically capturing the joy and pain of modern relationships. It's intense.
July Talk's album Touch comes out this Friday, but we have four new songs for you now in the playlist below. And watch for four more new songs off of Touch next Monday.
