"We didn't have radio growing up."
When we asked High Valley's Brad and Curtis Rempel to play Jam or Not a Jam with us, we had no idea that they didn't really grow up listening to a lot of music. Curtis used to sneakily listen to the radio when driving the tractor at the family ranch, but it could only pull in one lonely AM station from about 300 kilometres away. And when Brad first heard "Billie Jean" at a songwriting session in 2007, he said, "Excuse me, who is that girl?"
They were more than willing to play along with us anyway, and we're really glad they did. How else would we have found out which musical celeb lent them shampoo? Watch below.
