The Sam Roberts Band brought a party to CBC Music while recording a First Play Live session for the group's new album, TerraForm. The wine was flowing and the Sam Roberts Band Session Ale was quenching the thirst and fuelling the excitement of some hardcore fans.
After playing for an hour, the band seemed to be finished, the house lights were on, and Sam Roberts was making his way through the room greeting friends and fans. But an unwavering few refused to stop clapping. Roberts finally turned and acknowledged the noisy faithful, then stepped back to the mic for one more rockin' song.
The band worked on the new album with Graham Walsh from Holy F--k, recording at the Bathouse, the Tragically Hip's studio near Kingston, Ont. After a month in studio, Sam Roberts Band emerged with TerraForm, an album about renewal, rebirth and love. The band played eight songs from TerraForm during this First Play Live session, and you can watch them all in the playlist below.
