Broken Social Scene played a concert at Albert Hall in Manchester, England, last night, a day after the bombing at the Manchester Arena that killed 22 people.
During the show, Broken Social Scene invited Johnny Marr, former guitarist of Manchester legends the Smiths, to accompany the band onstage to perform "Anthems For a Seventeen-Year-Old Girl” from Broken Social Scene's You Forgot It In People album.
"To start this show, to show you how we love your town, there's a man that I love dearly who has come out to play for you," Broken Social Scene's Kevin Drew said. "He is your city, he is your legend, please give it up for Mr. Johnny Marr."
Ahead of the concert, Broken Social Scene had tweeted, "Tonight, we play for the hearts of Manchester."
After the performance, Marr posed with Broken Social Scene's James Shaw.
