Winnipeg rockers Mise en Scene burst on to the chart this week with their smouldering song "Closer" at #26. Their latest album, Still Life On Fire, was released on June 30 via Light Organ. The song's video portrays a bittersweet love story set against the backdrop of the adult film industry.

Chad VanGaalen is getting ready to release his sixth studio album this fall, and the song "Old Heads" is our highest debut. He recorded Light Information in his Calgary garage studio and it will be released on September 8 via Flemish Eye.
Elsewhere on the chart, folk singer-songwriter Sarah Jane Scouten debuts with "Bang Bang," which lands at #28.
Broken Social Scene is back on top with the title track from Hug of Thunder. It's the second song from their new album to reach #1, following the chart-topping single "Halfway Home."
