Alberta brothers Brad and Curtis Rempel of High Valley have been on the rise in the country music ranks for years. The duo was on its way to becoming a country household name after signing with Atlantic Records/Warner Music Nashville and releasing its well-known single “Make You Mine” — which hit more than 150,000 downloads worldwide, landed in the top 20 of the U.S. Country chart and accumulated more than 7.3 million streams.
The Rempel brothers are no strangers to the spotlight. Over the years at the Canadian Country Music Association Awards, High Valley took home interactive artist of the year (2013) and group or duo of the year (2015 and 2016). The Blumenort, Alta. natives are nominated for three 2017 CCMA Awards this year: Apple Music Fans’ Choice Award, group or duo of the year and album of the year for Dear Life.
With the CCMA Awards looming, High Valley let us in on their favourite Canadian country song, and which artist served as a mentor to the duo in the past. Watch below.
Tune in to the CCMA Awards on Sept. 10 on CBC at 8:00 p.m. ET (8:30 p.m. NT).
