James Barker Band — made up of James Barker, Taylor Abram, Connor Stephen and Bobby Martin — formed in 2013 in Woodville, Ont., and have been on the rise ever since.
In 2015, the band won the emerging artist showcase at Boots & Hearts Music Festival in 2015. One year later, James Barker Band signed with Universal Music Canada and was awarded an all-inclusive trip to Nashville, Tenn. This year, the band released its first EP, Game On, which debuted at No. 2 on iTunes during the week of its release.
Today, James Barker Band is most known for its top 10 single "Lawn Chair Lazy," which became the highest-charting debut single ever from a Canadian artist on country radio.
The group is nominated for five awards at the 2017 CCMA Awards, including album of the year, group or duo of the year, single of the year, video of the year and the Rising Star Award. So we asked the four members for their favourite Canadian country song — one they deemed to be "brilliant."
