Soul singer Charles Bradley died this weekend. Diagnosed with stomach cancer in 2016, Bradley announced earlier in September that his cancer had returned, this time in his liver.
His death was announced via his Facebook page today. "Mr. Bradley was truly grateful for all the love he’s received from his fans and we hope his message of love is remembered and carried on," read the post. "Thank you for your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time."
Along with Bradley's second cancer announcement, the singer also cancelled the remainder of his tour, including stops in Halifax and Vancouver.
Nearly a year ago, Bradley performed for The Strombo Show. Recorded several weeks before the first announcement of his cancer diagnosis, Bradley spoke on life and loss, and covered a Neil Young track. Watch the "screaming eagle of soul" in his element, below.
