Canadian folk rock band Whitehorse performed two songs by Neil Young — "Ohio" and "Old Man" — at the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame gala on Sept. 23.
Young based "Ohio" on the 1970 Kent State shootings, and for their tribute, Whitehorse (husand-and-wife duo Luke Doucet and Melissa McClelland) performed in front of a screen displaying names of people killed by police, including Freddie Gray, Eric Garner, Walter Scott and Greg Matters.
Their cover of both "Ohio" and "Old Man" nearly took down the hall. Watch the videos below.
