While thousands of Torontonians joined Choir! Choir! Choir! to pay tribute to Gord Downie on Tuesday night, Japandroids fans in the city were at Toronto's Massey Hall, where the Vancouver rock band covered the Tragically Hip's "Nautical Disaster."

Japandroids are currently on tour for their latest album, Near to the Wild Heart of Life, and decided to honour Downie by performing a song from the Hip's 1994 album, Day for Night.
