When Vancouver's the Long War won Searchlight 2017, CBC Music asked them to compose a song for Canada'a s 150 celebrations. They gathered at the Banff Centre for the Performing Arts for two weeks to work out the song with mentor Royal Wood, who plays piano on the final version. Filmmaker Michael Grand captured the whole process, which included convincing a school choir to come into the studio to add some harmonies to the chorus. You can watch it all in the short documentary, Seeking Voices, below.
