Prince's estate has teamed up with Warner Bros. Records to release the original version of "Nothing Compares 2 U," a song that the iconic artist wrote, arranged, performed and produced in 1984. That song was later popularized by Irish singer-songwriter Sinead O'Connor in 1990.
"Nothing Compares 2 U" was recorded at the Flying Cloud Drive Warehouse in Eden Prairie, Minn., and featured backing vocals by Susannah Melvion and Paul "St. Paul" Peterson, as well as Eric Leeds on saxophone.
The song released today is accompanied by never-before-seen footage of Prince and the Revolution rehearsing the song in the summer of 1984. Watch the full video beow.
