It's been almost three years since Canadian electro-pop artist Grimes put out her last album, the Polaris Music Prize short listed Art Angels. Since then, she has stayed busy, touring, releasing music videos and teaming up with other artists including Janelle Monae on her Dirty Computer cut, "Pynk," and K-pop group yyxy for "love4eva."
But, it finally looks like we're inching closer to a proper Grimes release soon. Last month, the musician/producer revealed that she had not one, but two albums in the works. (One of the albums is reportedly made for her "shit label," with another on "a label of my choosing," she told Stereogum.) She also shared a tentative tracklist for one of the albums on her Instagram.
Today, Grimes is sharing the first audio snippets of her upcoming project. Via Twitter, Grimes has revealed demos for two tracks titled "Adore U" and "4 a.m."
"This prob sounds terrible thru my phone recording," she wrote of "Adore U." "But it's the cheesy love song i was talking about that i don't like but everyone else likes, made the instrumental w my new mellotron!"

For "4 a.m.," Grimes wrote, "This one is like my ethereal chav jam that's like ... a cyberpunk interpretation of the bajirao mastani movie (plz watch this incredible film if u haven't) from mastanis perspective."
so this one is like my ethereal chav jam that’s like ... a cyberpunk interpretation of the bajirao mastani movie (plz watch this incredible film if u haven’t) from mastanis perspective, dunno if it makes sense without the low end. these r just demos bein recorded thru my phone so pic.twitter.com/mdyXQyScj5
