17-year-old pop singer Bülow garnered a lot of attention with her first EP, titled Damaged Vol. 1, with her songs racking up over 30 million streams and reaching the Spotify Global Viral chart. Last week, she released Damaged Vol. 2, and now debuts on the Radio 3 top 30 for the first time ever, edging on to the top 30 at #28 with her new single "Sad and Bored."
Dan Mangan's latest single "Troubled Mind" is the highest debut on our chart, checking in at #19. At first, this song might seem like an unusually upbeat effort from the west coast troubadour until you hear the lyrics, which he describes in a press release as being about "the struggle to maintain any kind of mental equilibrium in the day-to-day as we're bombarded with the woes of the world.” Mangan is set to release his fifth studio album later this year.
Other debuts this week include "Mother" from Tallies and "Kids On The Run" from Kalle Mattson.
Calgary's Astral Swans reach the top spot with "Controls" from its latest release Strange Prison. The album came out on May 18 and, coincidentally, was co-produced by our highest debuting artist Dan Mangan.
